Citation Managers, Generators, Styles, and Writing Help

Citation managers help organize and store your sources.

Free Managers:
Zotero (check out the video tutorials in the Library Tutorials tab)
Mendeley
EndNote Basic (free 30 day trial, but after that you need to pay--student pricing available)
Look at this Comparison Table or this Comparison Chart (scroll down a little) comparing the three services

When e-mailing a source from EBSCO to yourself, you can choose which style format to send it.

Note: Use caution when using a citation generator. Always check with your professor if you have any questions about a citation when using a citation generator or for other formatting issues.

A Digital Object Identifier is a unique number assigned to an article (not used for books). Not all articles have DOIs. To get DOIs, a publisher has to choose to be a member of one of the DOI registration agencies, a process that requires a membership fee, and not all publishers choose to do this.

If an article has a DOI, it will usually be found on the first page of the article, in the citation, in the EBSCO record for the article, or on the publisher's page for the article. You can type in the title or author of the article in the CrossRef Metadata Search form to see if an article has a DOI (email registration required).

All students have an Online Writing Center available for you to get help with writing and citations. You can register for an account on this page: https://acu.mywconline.net/

The Online Writing Center blog is located here (ACU username & password required): https://blogs.acu.edu/onlinewritingcenter

The Online Writing Center has a self-paced course for APA 7th edition. Self-enroll using this link: https://acuonline.instructure.com/courses/2953
