Interlibrary Loan for Distance & Online Learning

How to request materials and use Interlibrary Loan services for distance and online students, faculty, and staff.

What Should I Do If...?

I need to search for resources?

Search for sources in ACU Library's OneSearch and view information on the Distance Learning Portal to learn how to find resources.

I need a textbook that has not yet arrived?

Contact your instructor or your advisor for any issues accessing your required texts or readings. (The ACU Library does not provide textbooks unless a library link is provided in Canvas.)

I need an article that the ACU Library does not have access to?

Submit an Interlibrary Loan request. (Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, is a free service to ACU students, faculty, and staff. ILL services exist to supplement resources already available to you through the ACU Library. )

I need a chapter of a book instead of the entire book?

Submit an Interlibrary Loan request. (It is usually faster to get an electronic copy of an article, chapter, or section than an entire book.)

I need an ebook that the ACU Library owns, but I do not know how to access it?

Contact a Research Librarian for assistance: https://asklibrary.acu.edu/

I need a full book that the ACU Library does not own electronically?

Because of copyright restrictions, the ACU Library cannot borrow full ebooks through ILL. Here are several options for accessing physical books:

Use the Distance/Online Book Purchase Request Form to request books the ACU Library does not own.

I need a book that the ACU Library has a physical copy of, but I cannot come to Abilene to pick it up?

Fill out the Distance/Online Shipping Request Form to have a physical book from the ACU Library mailed to your address (only available within the contiguous U.S.).
