Master of Marriage & Family Therapy Online Program (MMFT)

Library resources for marriage and family therapy online students.

InterLibrary Loan Requests

You can request articles or book chapters that are not full-text in OneSearch and other EBSCO databases through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) by clicking on the title of the article and looking for the "If Item is not Available in Catalog Or in Journal Finder Get Item Here (ILL)" link on the left. First, click the "Check Journal Finder for Full text availability" link to see if the article is available without using ILL. You will need your ACU username and password to log into the ILL system. First time users will be asked to register with ILLiad.

Manual Request Submission and Electronic Document Delivery

You may find articles or book chapters in a reference list that are not found in a database. These sources may be in our print collection, however, for journal articles it is best to use Journal Finder first to see if we have access to the journal electronically (type in the title of the journal, not the title of the article). If the journal is not found in Journal Finder, then you can send an ILL Manual Request Submission using the link below. If ACU has the desired article or book chapter in print, we will scan it and deliver it to you electronically. Please note: This service is not available for on-campus students. It may help to identify yourself as an online student in a note when submitting your request.

Choose "Article" or "Book Chapter" under "New Request."

ILL of Books Program

Online students can request books through Interlibrary Loan. Using the ILL link in OneSearch is the most convenient, but if you cannot find the book in OneSearch, you can request a book using the Illiad link on the Manual ILL Instructions tab (choose Books and More under New Request). If you find a book in WorldCat, you can request it through ILL there as well. We will make every effort to find the book you need electronically. If the book is not available electronically, then other options will be provided, including sending the book to you from our collection if the book is in our print collection (within the contiguous United States). You can read the policies for this ILL service as a PDF by clicking here. You can always use your local public or academic library to request books through their InterLibrary loan service (ILL). You can use WorldCat to search for books at your local library.

Textbook Delay

If you have not yet received a required textbook purchased from the bookstore or other seller, please contact your ACU Dallas ambassador or adviser to request the chapters necessary for readings missed while waiting for your textbook to arrive. You may also contact your professor for the chapters.

TexShare

If you live in Texas, you can use a program called TexShare, which allows you to check out books at public and university libraries in Texas who are members of the program. Follow this link to look up the nearest participating libraries. If your local library is a participating member of TexShare, ask them to issue you a TexShare card. If you are in Texas but unable to get a TexShare card from your library, contact usIt is best to request articles and book chapters through ACU's ILL services and physical loans through a local library.

ATLA Reciprocal Borrowing

Students of Bible and Theology will want to take advantage of ACU's membership in the ATLA Reciprocal Borrowing Program, which allows you to check out books from participating seminaries and similar institutions across the U.S. and Canada. Check here for a list and here for a map to find participating libraries in your area or email acuill@acu.edu if you'd like more information on how to take advantage of the program.

If you are having trouble getting to the ILL website (redirects you back to the library home page), then try one or more of these options:

  • Opening the ILL link in a different browser
  • Opening the ILL link in an incognito window in Chrome or private window in Firefox
  • Clearing cache and cookies from your browser
If none of these solutions work, please email the ILL department at acuill@acu.edu.
