Submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request when an article or book chapter you need is not available in full text through the ACU Library.
ILL requests take time for our staff to process and fill. If you are working on a tight deadline, try using the "Full Text" filter in OneSearch to limit your results to full text availability.
How To Confirm if an Article is Available in Full Text
Click the "Access Options" dropdown in the search results (or item details page) to see options for availability.
Full Text access may be shown as "PDF," or may mention the name of a publisher or database. These links will usually take you straight to the full text. When a resource isn't obviously available, always try the "Check Journal Finder for Full-Text Availability of Articles" option. If ACU has access, it should show up as a link in Journal Finder.
How to Submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Request
If an article is not available through the options above, make sure you have time to wait for ILL processing (potentially up to 2-4 weeks). Initiate your ILL request by clicking on the option that says "If item is not available in Catalog or in Journal Finder Get Item Here (Interlibrary Loan)" under the "Access options" dropdown.
You will need your ACU username and password to log into the ILL system. (First time users may be asked to register patron information.) Review or add the following before you submit your request: relevant information about the article or chapter, "Needed before" date, and any additional information you wish to add in the "Comments" field.
You'll receive an email from acuill@acu.edu when your requested material is available or with follow-up information.
Remember: Do not request required course textbooks through ILL. Contact your instructor and academic advisor ASAP if you are having trouble accessing course readings.
