Library 101 for ACU Faculty: Course Reserves

A quick information guide to the Brown Library, specifically geared toward new ACU faculty members.

Course Reserves

ACU Faculty can place printed or media items (library or personal copies of videos, DVDs, CDs, books, photocopied handouts and articles, etc.) on reserve for students to come into the ACU Library and use. Requests for Course Reserves need to be made before the start of the semester or well in advance of when the items are needed by the students.  Normal processing time is twenty-four hours.

Procedures for course reserves are as follows:

1.  Bring reserve items required for each course to DeDe James at the Library Circulation Desk.

2.  Turn in a reserve form (available at the Library Circulation Desk) giving the course name as it appears in the schedule bulletin.

3.  On the form give the desired loan period and any handling instructions.

4.  Notify the Library Reserves Service at x2346 or DeDe James (dpj22a@acu.edu) when reserve items are no longer needed, then pick up personal items promptly.  For media reserves, notify DeDe James at the Library Circulation Desk.

5.  Be sure that the use of any reproduced material is in compliance with U.S. Copyright Law.  Information on copyright is available on our Copyright and Fair Use Research Guide
