A quick information guide to the Brown Library, specifically geared toward new ACU faculty members.

Writing Center

The Writing Center at ACU, located in the Learning Commons, is a facility where any writer–from ACU, from other Universities in Abilene, or from the community at large–can come discuss writing tasks of any kind from conception through final edits.

Learning Studio

Located upstairs in Brown Library, the AT&T Learning Studio provides students and faculty with innovative technology, cutting edge digital equipment, and creative spaces to explore ideas and global communication.

Maker Lab

The Library Maker Lab is equipped with general and specialized tools and equipment for design and fabrication of objects and artifacts that serve a variety of purposes.  The Maker Lab is open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the community with helpful staff available to show you how to learn and master new skills and processes for the benefit of your students and others.

Speaking Center

Located upstairs in the Brown Library in the AT&T Learning Studio, the Speaking Center is available to help faculty and students plan and perfect their oral presentations (both live and recorded).

Friends of the ACU Library

The Friends of ACU Library (FACUL) was organized in 1966 and has served since that date as a strong, effective support group working to enhance the library.

The wide range of programs and activities sponsored by FACUL assure that all persons interested in supporting the ACU Library can find a way to participate with others who have a passion for books and learning.

Innovation Foundry

The Innovation Foundry (iF) is a teamwork and technology hub located on the top floor of the ACU Library, near the bay window overlooking the Campus Center.  We inspire collaborative innovation through support for challenge-based projects and other social ventures. IF empowers the ACU community in leveraging technology to solve real-world problems and to equip them with digital skills for the future. We can help you discover data, design solutions, and deploy web based content.

ACU Press

Since 2005, ACU Press has published over 240 titles, with 39 more under contract still to come. Books are now being bought directly from ACU Press by 590 churches of various heritages. Over 233 universities, colleges, and seminaries have bought titles direct from ACU Press to be used by faculty/staff and for course adoptions. ACU Press currently has published authors from over 50 colleges and universities including Duke University, Wheaton College, University of Notre Dame, University of Chicago, and Baylor University.
