Why Use Google Scholar?

We usually recommend using ACU OneSearch as your first stop when searching for academic sources. However, Google Scholar's natural language searching, algorithms, and wide breadth of results can be a useful compliment to library databases--especially for a long-term research project, like a dissertation. Be aware that the filtering capabilities are less specific and that you may run into paywalls (but the instructions linked below may help). 

Google Scholar also has features useful for citation chaining. Citation chaining is a process through which you can identify useful and relevant sources by inspecting which sources have cited each other.
