Even though SMEs and IDs outside of ACU cannot access the library’s subscribed resources, you can ask the Distance & Online Library Services department (see Distance & Online Librarians page), to look up articles, ebooks, or other sources for you and provide permalinks.
Permalinks give direct access to the record of the article, ebook, or resource in EBSCO-subscribed databases. Although it does not go directly to the full text, the full text is available through the permalink. Permalinks are required for students to access many articles that are only available through the library’s subscription.
(Note: Some library resources have something similar to permalinks, but are not actually called permalinks. Examples include “Get Link” from Gale databases or Jumpstarts from the Ovid database. If a resource does not have a permalink and the library has access to it, then an alternative link, called a "library access link" will be provided that will allow access.)
