How Can I Become a Data Analyst?

The College of Business Administration offers a concentration in Fintech and Data Analytics. This concentration requires Scripting, Analytics 3: Data Mining, Analytics, and an Upper Level Finance class. There are also multiple post- graduate degree programs at ACU and elsewhere detailed on this page.

• SQL For Data Analysis - LinkedIn Learning: Structured Query Language (SQL) is a programming language made for data reconfiguration. It contains a variety of functions that allow the user to manage and rearrange data. This program would award a certificate upon completion and is free for ACU students through Linkedin Learning.

• Excel Mastering Pivot Tables and Reports: Pivot tables are one of the most important features in Microsoft Excel. They allow a user to generate reports and summaries instantly. Since 2010, Excel enables users to create mini databases from pivot tables. This program would award a certificate upon completion and is free for ACU students through Linkedin Learning.

• Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate: This program is an introduction to R programming, Python, SQL, and Tableau. These platforms are most commonly used in various data analytics roles. Learn to clean, organize, and present data. The course is available through Coursera and gives a great overview of skills data analysts used day-to-day.

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Associate: Power BI is a part of the Microsoft Power platform. It allows the user to visualize data and track key performance indicators to help make strategic business decisions. 

• Tableau Business Intelligence Analyst Professional Certificate: Tableau is a business intelligence software that focuses on data visualization. It also has a live feature that allows users to connect to other data sources, such as SQL.
